ICBC Goes to Central Park

Join us on our first trip to Central Park, NYC! This event kicks off this years Black Birders Week!

We will be welcomed into the park by Indigo Goodson-Fields. A local birder, educator, writer, and poet who shares our wishes and values for Black and brown communities and is familiar with that special NYC birders vibe that we’d love to share.

The bus reservation and RSVP are required. We are only traveling by bus and have a limit of 30 spaces.

We ask that BIPOC attendees RSVP/Reserve a bus spot first and through 18 May 2024.

RSVP and bus reservations will open to Non-BIPOC allies if seats are available on 19 May 2024.

Central park is massive and we will not be able to cover even a sliver of it in only a few hours, however, we will hit some fun and historic spots. We will cross mostly paved trails with small inclines. There are restrooms AND benches throughout the park to rest. Lunch will be provided by ICBC afterwards and prior to returning back to Philly.

We open this particular bird outing to celebrate the beginning of Black Birders Week by finding refuge and joy in a historical space for Black and brown multicultural communities. We are at all times respectful of one another. We are considerate of new birders. We acknowledge an individual's pronouns. We are not racist, sexist, ableist, classist, homophobic, or xenophobic.

Just be a good human !
